Growing consumption of printing products and technologies in countries such as the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia has created “gainful business opportunities” for both local and foreign suppliers and vendors. Saudi Arabia in particular has seen strong performance and increasing demand for printing products.
Mohammed Addarrat, General Manager for Lexmark International in the Middle East, announced that the OEM would be releasing its newest printers in the region to capitalise on the growth. The printers were released in the US market earlier in May, and include the Lexmark X950 and C950de models.
Addarrat stated: "The new products announced today, along with our other award-winning colour offerings, are notable additions to an extremely broad and high-performing printer and MFP product line and will help to ensure our competitiveness in the colour workgroup printing market.
"We are making Lexmark's powerful solutions platform more accessible to our customers - both large enterprise and SMBs - across a broader range of products than ever before."
The positive news on the Middle Eastern market comes as printer sales in Western Europe and the USA in 2010 showed high levels of growth, and a few months after industry analysts IDC stated that the printing market is at its highest shipment levels since before the global recession
